Monitor Overview
The Live Invigilation Dashboard provides a comprehensive view of student activity during an online assessment. Invigilators can track attendance, monitor student progress, and take action when necessary.
Search, Filter & Sort students
Use search fields and filters to find specific students or classes, sort by name, status or grade. This helps manage large cohorts efficiently
Automatic Attendance
The system automatically records attendance when students join the assessment. A count of present, absent, started, ended and submitted students is displayed
Student Count by Test Status
This shows an overall count of students based on their test status.
- Assigned - Refers to the total number of students who have assigned a test.
- Absent - Refers to the total number of students who have not joined a test.
- Joined - Refers to the total number of students who have joined a test.
- In progress - Refers to the number of students who have started the test.
- Ended - Refers to the number of students who have ended the test but not submitted it.
- Submitted - Refers to the number of students who have submitted the test.
Test Progress and Live Attempt Status
Each student row shows a progress bar and highlights the current question they are on. You can quickly see who is behind or finished early
Active Question
Teachers can also see in real-time the active question that the student is currently working on.
Student information
Online/Offline Status
This shows if the student is currently online(Green) or offline(Red).
Device info
For each student, view device type, browser, internet connectivity, focus lost events and uploads. This helps detect technical issues or suspicious behaviour
No. of uploads
You can see the total number of uploads by the particular student. By clicking on it, you will also be able to preview the uploads done.
Focus Lost Count
In 'Any browser with security", whenever a student tries to leave the test window they'll get a 'Focus lost' alert and the invigilator would be notified about the same. This Focus lost Count lets you know the number of times the student went out of the test.
Below popup is what the student sees on their end during a Focus Lost event
Timer
It shows the time remaining for a particular student in case of a timed assessment.
Test status
It shows the test status for a particular student, that is, if they have not started, started, ended, or submitted the test.
Individual Chat and Making Announcements
Individual Chat
The teacher can send a message to specific students during the exam via the chat function. The student may also send messages to the teacher, provided that the teacher is monitoring the exam.
Making Announcements
This feature allows the teacher to broadcast messages to all or multiple students in the monitoring tab at once.
You can also select/deselect the students from the list in the monitoring tab and then type the message and click on send. The message would be received by the selected students.
Monitor Student Accommodations
Teachers can manage student accommodations with ease. Click the star icon to view all accommodations.
- Extra time
- Scientific Calculator
- Graphing Calculator
- Spellcheck
- Speech-to-Text
Extra Time
This option allows the teacher to add extra time for a specific student. This is particularly useful in the case of students with special needs or unforeseen circumstances during a test wherein a student requires more time to complete the test. Time can only be added and not subtracted. Therefore, once the time has been added, it cannot be undone.
Scientific calculator
Enables scientific calculator for specific student
Graphing calculator
Enables desmos graphing calculator for specific student
Speech to Text
Allows students to use microphone to convert speech to text during assessment.
Spellcheck
Allows students to run spellcheck on words during assessment.
Force Submit
This allows a teacher to force submit student answers from the monitor tab. Once force-submitted, the student test would be submitted and they would not able to continue writing the test. This is useful
- when a student forgot to submit their responses even after ending the test or after the time is over.
- If a student was caught cheating and you do not want the student to continue writing the test.
Note: Use with Caution - The force submit option submits the answers backed up on the AssessPrep cloud server every 30 seconds. If the student is offline, then their latest answers would not available on the cloud server and might lead to lost responses.
Student Activity Logs
This is a record of all student activity logs during a test like:
- Start and End Date/Time
- OS and browser used to take the test
- Duration and Explanation for Focus Lost
- Teacher actions like Adding Extra Time, Force Submit, or Allow Resume
Report issue
This allows a teacher or invigilator to report an issue to the AssessPrep Support Team if a student is facing any technical issue during the test. It is more useful to use this option rather than getting in touch directly as we get all relevant information about the student and test including Test ID, Student browser, and Device information.
This helps us resolve the issue faster and reduce the need for further information from the school.
