AssessPrep offers you the option of adding 20 different types of questions, as shown below.
Let's take a look at these question types one by one.
Type 1 - Long Answer
This question type allows the teacher to ask subjective questions from students. The students will be able to type their answers in the space provided.
When you click on the 'Long Answer' button (After clicking on the 'Add' button and choosing the 'question' format as shown above), an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case Long answer)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Toolbar
The toolbar has the following options:
- Format the text (Bold, Italics, Underline)
- Add Superscript/Subscript
- Remove Formatting
- Use Lists (Bulleted, Numbered)
- Insert a Table
- Insert Special Characters
- Insert Math
- Insert Image
- Undo/Redo
- Text Alignment
- Right to left/ Left to right writing
- Font Size, Font Color, Font Background Color

4. Area to enter your question.
5. Option to insert extra items to the question - like an audio file.
6. The option to 'add explanation' can be used to describe what exactly is expected in the respective question. It is visible to students only after grading. It, therefore, gives an insight into understanding the question and answering it correctly. The tool also helps other collaborators to understand your/test creator's line of thought.
7. Option to add mark-scheme for the question - This is for teachers own reference & is not visible to students. It can be used as reference while grading questions. Also same will be used by AI while generating comments while grading with AI.
8. Option to add Tags for the question - All questions can be tagged by topics or command terms. Post assessment this helps in analysis how students performed across various topics & what are the strong or weak areas.

Type 2 - MCQ
MCQ enables the teacher to ask multiple-choice questions with a single answer from students.
When you click on the 'MCQ' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case MCQ)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Area to enter your question.
- Here, you can type the answer choices in the space provided.
- Shuffle options - Teachers can randomize the options by enabling this toggle. This will change order of options for each student.
- You can also add images/audios as answer choices by clicking on the 'link' icon.
- You can add more than two answer choices by clicking on the 'Add' icon.
Once you have added your question and answer choices, mark one of the answer choices as correct by clicking on the radio button adjacent to it.
If you do not choose a correct answer, you will not be allowed to save the question.

Type 3 - MCQ multiple
MCQ multiple lets the teacher ask multiple-choice questions with multiple correct answers from students.
When you click on the 'MCQ multiple' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case MCQ Multiple)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Area to enter your question.
- Here, you can type the answer choices in the space provided.
- You can also add images/audios as answer choices by clicking on the 'link' icon.
- Once you have added your question and answer choices, mark one or more of the answer choices as correct by clicking on the radio button adjacent to it. If you do not choose a correct answer, you will not be allowed to save the question.
- You can add more than two answer choices by clicking on the 'Add' icon.
- Shuffle options - Teachers can randomize the options by enabling this toggle. This will change order of options for each student.

Type 4 - True/False
This question type permits the teacher to ask True/False questions from students. When you click on the 'True/False' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case True/False)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Area to enter your question.
- You can also add images/audios as answer choices by clicking on the 'link' icon.
- Here, you can enter multiple statements.
- Choose correct choice for each statement you have added - True or False.
- You can add more than two statements by clicking on the 'Add' icon.
- Shuffle options - Teachers can randomize the options by enabling this toggle. This will change order of statements for each student.

Type 5 - Fill Text
This type allows for asking 'Fill in the Blanks' type questions from students. Students will type the correct answer in the space (Blank) provided.
When you click on the 'Fill Text' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Here, you can type your statement in the space provided.
- Use the first icon in the toolbar to enter a blank within a statement. You have ability to add multiple blanks by clicking again on the icon.
- Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.
- Click on the blank in the statement to enter correct answer for it
5. This is how the student see the question on their end

Type 6 - Fill Dropdown
Fill dropdown is a combination of Fill in the blanks and MCQ. Students will choose the correct answer from a drop-down menu to fill in the blank.
When you click on the 'Fill Dropdown' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Here, you can type your statement in the space provided.
- Use the first icon in the toolbar to enter a blank within a statement. You have ability to add multiple blanks by clicking again on the icon.
- Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.
- Click on the blank in the statement to enter correct answer for it
Type 7 - Match
This type allows for creating 'Match the Following' type questions for students. Students will drag and drop the options to match the correct pairs.
When you click on the 'Match' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case Match)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Area to enter your question.
- Here, you can enter multiple match pairs with Add button.
- Enter your match phrase of the pair.
- Enter your match target of the pair.
- You can also add distractors that don't belong to any pairs.

8. This is how it would look on the students end

Type 8 - Sort
This type allows for creating 'Arrange the Following' type questions for students. Students will drag and drop the items to arrange them in ascending or descending order of a certain attribute, as specified in the question.
When you click on the 'Sort' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case Sort)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Area to enter your question.
- Here, you can enter multiple options that need to be sorted. (These will be automatically shuffled for the students)

Type 9 - Classify
This type allows for creating 'Classify the Following' type questions for students. Students will drag and drop the items to a particular category choice, as specified in the question.
When you click on the 'Classify' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case Classify)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Area to enter your question.
- Here, you can enter multiple categories for which you will enter Items.
- Enter name of your category
- Enter all matching items
- You can also add distractors that don't belong to any pairs.

8. This is how the question will look on the students side
Type 10 - Table
This type allows for creating 'Data Handling' or 'Tabular representation of information' type questions especially for the subjects of Science and Mathematics. Students can calculate and then type the values in all the empty spaces to complete the table.
When you click on the 'Table' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case Table)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Here, you can type your question in the space provided.
- Here you will find the buttons for adding or removing rows and columns. A table is already created for you, for ease of editing, with the default setting of 2 Rows and 4 Columns.
- You can simply click on any cell to start editing it. Whichever cell you leave blank, the students will be asked to fill, when they attempt the test.
- Allow students to edit pre-filled text - Enable/disable
- Enable auto-plot to allow students to plot the graph automatically basis what data they enter in the table.

8. Select chart-type - Allows to select Bar chart or Line chart as chart type

Type 11 - Drawing
This type allows for creating 'Drawing' based questions. Students can use the available 'Canvas' and 'Tools' for drawing the required diagram.
When you click on the 'Drawing' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case Drawing)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Here, you can type your question in the space provided.
- This space is a Canvas, which allows for drawing using the tools from the tool panel.
- This is the Tool Panel, and it allows the use of 17 different options.

The Tool Panel has the following options that can be used for drawing:
1. Move, 2. Add Text, 3. Insert image, 4. Draw Line, 5. Draw Arrow, 6. Draw Rectangle, 7. Draw Circle, 8. Draw Polygon, 9. Draw Path, 10. Fill Color, 11. Border Color, 12. Bring to Front, 13. Send to Back, 14. Undo, 15. Redo, 16. Delete and 17. Clear All.

Type 12 - Label Drag
This type allows for creating 'Labeling' based questions. Students can drag and drop the given options to their proper places on the given diagram/image.
When you click on the 'Label-Drag' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case Label Drag)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Here, you can type your question in the space provided.
- This is the Tool Panel, and it allows the use of 9 different options for labeling.
- This space is a Canvas, which allows for drawing/labeling using the tools from the tool panel.

6. The Tool Panel has the following options that can be used for labeling:
1. Move 2. Draw Label, 3. Insert image, 4. Bring to Front, 5. Send to Back, 6. Undo, 7. Redo, 8. Delete and 9. Clear All.

7. Click on the 'Insert Image' icon from the Tool panel, to either insert an image directly from your computer or to upload an image from the internet using a URL.
8. Once your image has been uploaded, click on the 'Add Images' button to add it to the Canvas.
9. Now, choose the 'Draw Label' icon from the Tool Panel and start drawing blanks in the places where you want the students to drag and drop the options provided by you.
10. Type the correct answers in all the labels. You will not be able to save your question if you leave any label as blank.
11. Finally, include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Type 13 - Label Fill
- This type allows for creating 'Labeling' based questions. Students can Fill the Blank Labels on the given diagram/image.
- All the instructions for 'Label - Fill' question type are same as that of the 'Label - Drag' question type and have been explained previously in detail.

The only difference being that the students will have to type their own answers and no options will be given to them for drag and drop.

Type 14 - Hotspot
This type allows for creating 'Labeling' or 'Marking an Area' or 'Identification of Objects' based questions. This question is very beneficial for testing Visual memory and understanding.
When you click on the 'Hotspot' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case Hotspot)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Here, you can type your question in the space provided.
- This space is a Canvas, which allows for drawing/labeling using the tools from the tool panel.
- This is the Tool Panel, and it allows the use of 13 different options for drawing/marking.

6. The Tool Panel has the following options that can be used for labeling:
1. Move, 2. Insert Image, 3. Draw Rectangle, 4. Draw Circle, 5. Draw Polygon, 6. Draw Path, 7. Bring to Front, 8. Send to Back, 9. Undo, 10. Redo, 11. Delete, 12. Clear All and 13. Choose Correct Hotspot.

Click on the 'Insert Image' icon from the Tool panel, to either insert an image directly from your computer or to upload an image from the internet using a URL.
After uploading the image as shown below, click on the 'Add Image' button.

Now, using the drawing tools from the Tool panel, mark the areas that you want to test for, as shown below.

Now, use the 'Choose Correct Hotspot' icon from the Tool Panel, to tick mark the correct areas. They will turn from blue to green.


Type 15 - Geogebra Graph
This question type is used to frame 'Graphing' based questions using the embedded 'GeoGebra' application.
GeoGebra is a very rich and interactive geometry, algebra, statistics and calculus application, intended for learning and teaching mathematics and science from primary school to university level.
When you click on the 'Graph' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case Geogebra graph)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Here, you can type your question in the space provided.
- This space is the GeoGebra Graph, which includes the graph as well as all the necessary tools.
- When you check this box, it allows 'Algebra Input' for the student.

6. Click on the graph to open a full modal where you can add the equations
Type 16 - Desmos Graph
The Desmos Calculator is a tool that helps represent ideas mathematically, connect different representations dynamically and make conjectures.
When you click on the 'Graph' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.
- Question type - This tells you the question type you have selected (in this case Desmos graph)
- Points - It is mandatory to enter points in case of Points or Criteria with points as the rubric selected.
- Here, you can type your question in the space provided.
- This space is the Desmos Graph.
5. Click on the graph to open a full modal where you can add the equations
Type 17 - Group
The Group question type supports teachers in creating subquestions under 1 specific group (content source) and allows students to refer to and respond appropriately.
- Create a group question from the 'Questions' Tab.
- Add the desired content for the set of questions under the group & press save.

Now you will get an option to add an item under the group. We allow to add any question or content type under the group. Also you may add another sub-group too under the group.
- Below is the preview when the group question is saved.
Type 18 - Audio
- Select the question type.
- Assign the marks to the criteria.
- Insert the question/text.
- Set the maximum time the student will have to record his/her response.

Type 19 - Video
Video type questions are greatly beneficial to teachers desirous of conducting video recording tasks.
- Select the question type.
- Assign the points to the question.
- Insert the question/text.
- Set the maximum time the student will have to record his/her response.

- Select the question type.
- Assign the points to the question.
- Insert the question/text.
