With the new Task and Gradebook integration, overall grades and feedback can automatically sync from AssessPrep to the ManageBac Gradebook. To sync grades, you need to link an AssessPrep assessment to a ManageBac Task. This guide will walk you through the process.
Step 1: Add a new Task on ManageBac
- Select your desired class from the Classes dropdown in the left menu.
- Navigate to the class Tasks & Units tab.
- Click Tasks > Add Task.
Step 2: Fill in the Task Details
Fill in the required fields marked with an asterisk (*):
- Title*: Enter a descriptive title for the assessment. This will be the title of the assessment on AssessPrep.
- Due Date & Time*: Set the due date and time for the task. This will be the close date/time for the assessment on AssessPrep. Students will not be able to start the test after this date and time.

- Type*: Specify the type of assessment, like Formative or Summative, to indicate its purpose in the learning process.
Set Student Differentiation (optional)
In the Student Differentiation section, you can assign the task (online assessment) to specific students within the class. This is an optional step that allows you to tailor the assignment to individual student needs or create differentiated assessments.
To assign the task to specific students:
- Click on the "Student Differentiation" section to expand it.
- Select the students you wish to assign the task to by checking the boxes next to their names.
Please note:
- Only the assigned students will be able to take the assessment on AssessPrep.
- Teachers will only be able to grade the assigned students for this specific Task.
Step 3: Configure Assessment Options

- Click "Create Task" to create the task on ManageBac.
Important: To link an AssessPrep assessment to a ManageBac task, the assessment must belong to the same Grade and Subject (within the same subject group) on both platforms. If the assessment doesn't appear in the list when linking, check that the ManageBac class has the same Subject and Grade level as the AssessPrep assessment.
Step 5: Edit and Deliver the Assessment
Once created, select "Edit in AssessPrep" to be redirected to your AssessPrep account. Add content to the online assessment, then create, deliver, monitor, and grade the assessment on AssessPrep. Published results will automatically sync to the ManageBac Gradebook for this task.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1) I can't find my AssessPrep assessment when linking it to a ManageBac task. What should I do?
First, ensure the AssessPrep assessment and the ManageBac class have the same Subject (within the same subject group) and Grade level. If they don't match, the assessment won't appear in the list. Double-check these details and try linking again. If you still can't find the assessment after verifying the Subject and Grade level, contact support for further assistance.
2) What if I create the ManageBac task with a maximum point of 60 but my linked AssessPrep online assessment is only 50 points in total or vice-versa. How will that affect my task in ManageBac?
Points added under ManageBac tasks will be overridden by the total points of the linked online assessment on AssessPrep.
3) Can I link multiple AssessPrep Online Assessments to one ManageBac task?
No, one ManageBac task can only be linked to one AssessPrep online assessment. If you wish to add multiple assessments, you would need to create multiple tasks on ManageBac.
