1. Viewing and Grading Uploaded Handwritten Submissions
1.1 Understanding Submission Options
Students have two options for uploading handwritten submissions:
- Uploading with each question.
- Uploading to the entire assessment.
1.2 Grading Mapped Submissions
Mapped submissions are those attached to a specific answer. They can be easily viewed and graded within the grading modal. Here's how to work with them:
1.2.1 Annotation Toolbar
Utilize the extensive annotation toolbar to enhance the grading experience. It includes tools like:
- Rotate Left/Right: Correct the orientation of a wrongly-uploaded file.
- Move Tool: Grab and move the uploaded submission for better viewing.
- Zoom In/Out Tool: Zoom into the details or out for a broader view.
- Ticks and Crosses: Indicate correct or incorrect points easily.
- Comment: Add comments on students' answers, enhancing feedback.
- Draw Rectangle/Path: Select specific regions on the image.
- Add Text: Type text directly onto the image, enabling clear communication.
- Delete: Remove annotations as needed.
- Reset: Restore the original state of the uploaded image.
Note: The annotations save automatically.
If there are multiple files uploaded to an answer, navigate between files using the page dropdown or arrow keys.
1.3 Grading Unmapped Submissions
If a student uploads a submission after the test, and it's not mapped to any question, it's classified as an unmapped submission. These unmapped submissions are accessible for annotation with every question, located below the mapped submissions.
Here's how to work with them:
- Click on the dropdown where unmapped submissions are listed.
- Choose the relevant unmapped submission that you want to grade or annotate.
- Use the annotation tools to mark and comment as needed.
2. Managing Uploads
2.1 Viewing All Uploads
In the grid view, see the total number of documents uploaded by a student. Click on the cell to view all uploaded files.
2.2 Uploading Files as a Teacher
Upload additional files for a student when necessary, such as when a student has shared a file separately. Open all uploads by clicking on the cell under the uploads column, then click on the upload button.
Advanced Tip: Recover Files: On rare occasions, some files may be hidden due to a technical glitch during the upload process. If you encounter this issue, don't worry. Use the "recover uploads" option to retrieve these hidden files, ensuring that no student submission is missed.
Reopen Uploads: Allow students to upload additional files even after closing the test. Click on the "reopen uploads" option to grant access.
