AssessPrep offers you the option of adding 18 different types of questions, as shown below.

Let's take a look at these question types one by one.

Type 1 - Long Answer

This question type allows the teacher to ask subjective questions from students. The students will be able to type their answers in the space provided.

When you click on the 'Long Answer' button (After clicking on the 'Add' button and choosing the 'question' format as shown above), an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

Once you start typing, a panel containing the toolbar would become visible.

The toolbar has the following options:

1. Format the text (Bold, Italics, Underline)

2. Add Superscript/Subscript

3. Remove Formatting

4. Use Lists (Bulleted, Numbered)

5. Insert a Table

6. Insert Special Characters

7. Insert Math

8. Show more options (Insert Image, Undo, Redo, Font Size, Font Color, Font Background Color)

The option to 'add explanation' can be used to describe what exactly is expected in the respective question. It is visible to students only after grading. It, therefore, gives an insight into understanding the question and answering it correctly. The tool also helps other collaborators to understand your/test creator's line of thought.

You will not be allowed to save a question to your test unless you award it Points or Marks or Achievement Level.

Once you click on the 'Save' button, the question will be added to your test and will appear as shown below.

Type 2 - MCQ

MCQ enables the teacher to ask multiple-choice questions with a single answer from students.

When you click on the 'MCQ' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your question and the answer choices in the space provided.

2. You can also add images/audios as answer choices by clicking on the 'link' icon (highlighted in yellow).

3. You can add more than two answer choices by clicking on the 'Add' icon.

4. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

Once you have added your question and answer choices, mark one of the answer choices as correct by clicking on the radio button adjacent to it.

If you do not choose a correct answer, you will not be allowed to save the question.

Include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Important:

Shuffle options - Teachers can randomize the options by enabling this toggle.

Type 3 - MCQ multiple

MCQ multiple lets the teacher ask multiple-choice questions with multiple correct answers from students.

When you click on the 'MCQ multiple' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your question and the answer choices in the space provided.

2. You can also add images/audios as answer choices by clicking on the 'link' icon (highlighted in yellow).

3. You can add more than two answer choices by clicking on the 'Add' icon.

4. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

Once you have added your question and answer choices, mark at least one of the answer choices as correct by checking the button adjacent to it.

If you do not choose a correct answer, you will not be allowed to save the question.

Include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Important:

Shuffle options - Teachers can randomize the options by enabling this toggle.

Type 4 - True/False

This question type permits the teacher to ask True/False questions from students.

When you click on the 'True/False' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your question and associated statements in the space provided.

2. You can also add images/audios as answer choices by clicking on the 'link' icon (highlighted in yellow).

3. You can add up to 10 statements by clicking on the 'Add' icon

4. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

Once you have added your question and statements, mark whether they are true or false. This must be done for all statements by clicking the radio buttons adjacent to them.

If you do not choose the correct answers, you will not be allowed to save the question.

Include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Important:

Shuffle options - Teachers can randomize the options by enabling this toggle.

Type 5 - Fill Text

This type allows for asking 'Fill in the Blanks' type questions from students. Students will type the correct answer in the space (Blank) provided.

When you click on the 'Fill Text' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your statement in the space provided.

2. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

If you do not include at least one 'Text Input' box in your statement, you will not be allowed to save the question. The Error 'At least one text input required', will be flashed across the editor in red color.

To save the question, you must also provide at least one correct answer by double-clicking on the 'Text Input' box.

Once you double-click the Text Input box, an editor will open, as shown below. Here, type one or more correct answers for your text input and then click 'OK'.

Finally, include an explanation for your question if need be, and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Type 6 - Fill Dropdown

Fill dropdown is a combination of Fill in the blanks and MCQ. Students will choose the correct answer from a drop-down menu to fill in the blank.

When you click on the 'Fill Dropdown' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your statement in the space provided.

2. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

If you do not include at least one 'Drop Down' box in your statement, you will not be allowed to save the question. The Error 'Atleast one drop down required', will be flashed across the editor in red color.

To save the question, you must provide the options and choose the correct answer from among them, by double clicking on the 'Drop Down' box.

Once you double click the 'Drop Down' box, an editor will open, as shown below. Here, type the options and choose the correct answer for your drop down. Then click 'OK'.

Finally, include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Type 7 - Match

This type allows for creating 'Match the Following' type questions for students. Students will drag and drop the options to match the correct pairs.

When you click on the 'Match' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your question in the space provided.

2. In this space, type the pairs (target and phrase) to be matched.

3. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

You can also add images/audios as target and phrase choices by clicking on the 'link' icon (highlighted in yellow).

Also, here you can :

1. Add more than two pairs by clicking on the 'Add' icon.

2. Click on 'Add distractor' to add more number of options, so as to increase the difficulty level of the question.

Finally, include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Type 8 - Sort

This type allows for creating 'Arrange the Following' type questions for students. Students will drag and drop the items to arrange them in ascending or descending order of a certain attribute, as specified in the question.

When you click on the 'Sort' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your question and associated items in the space provided.

2. You can also add images/audios as items by clicking on the 'link' icon (highlighted in yellow).

3. You can add more than two items by clicking on the 'Add' icon.

4. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

Include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Type 9 - Classify

This type allows for creating 'Classify the Following' type questions for students. Students will drag and drop the items to a particular category choice, as specified in the question.

When you click on the 'Classify' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your question in the space provided.

2. In this space, type the Category and associated Items to be classified.

3. You can also add images/audios as Category or Items by clicking on the 'link' icon (highlighted in yellow).

4. You can add more than two items per category by clicking on the '+' icon.

5. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

Also, here you can :

1. Add more than two categories by clicking on the 'Add' icon.

2. Click on 'Add distractor' to add more number of items, so as to increase the difficulty level of the question.

Finally, include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Type 10 - Table

This type allows for creating 'Data Handling' or 'Tabular representation of information' type questions especially for the subjects of Science and Mathematics. Students can calculate and then type the values in all the empty spaces to complete the table.

When you click on the 'Table' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your question in the space provided.

2. Here you will find the buttons for adding or removing rows and columns. A table is already created for you, for ease of editing, with the default setting of 2 Rows and 4 Columns.

3. You can simply click on any cell to start editing it. Whichever cell you leave blank, the students will be asked to fill, when they attempt the test.

4. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

Also, here :

1. Use this option to allow students to edit even the prefilled text. Otherwise, students will only be allowed to type in empty cells.

2. Use this option to Enable Autoplot (choice of Bar Chart or Line Chart is available from the dropdown menu) for students based on the data they fill in the table. This option is specially useful for Data Handling questions.

Finally, include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Type 11 - Drawing

This type allows for creating 'Drawing' based questions. Students can use the available 'Canvas' and 'Tools' for drawing the required diagram.

When you click on the 'Drawing' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your question in the space provided.

2. This space is a Canvas, which allows for drawing using the tools from the tool panel.

3. This is the Tool Panel, and it allows the use of 17 different options.

4. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

The Tool Panel has the following options that can be used for drawing:

1. Move, 2. Add Text, 3. Insert image, 4. Draw Line, 5. Draw Arrow, 6. Draw Rectangle, 7. Draw Circle, 8. Draw Polygon, 9. Draw Path, 10. Fill Color, 11. Border Color, 12. Bring to Front, 13. Send to Back, 14. Undo, 15. Redo, 16. Delete and 17. Clear All.

Finally, include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Type 12 - Label Drag

This type allows for creating 'Labeling' based questions. Students can drag and drop the given options to their proper places on the given diagram/image.

When you click on the 'Label-Drag' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your question in the space provided.

2. This space is a Canvas, which allows for drawing/labeling using the tools from the tool panel.

3. This is the Tool Panel, and it allows the use of 9 different options for labeling.

4. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

The Tool Panel has the following options that can be used for labeling:

1. Move, 2. Draw Label, 3. Insert image, 4. Bring to Front, 5. Send to Back, 6. Undo, 7. Redo, 8. Delete and 9. Clear All.

Click on the 'Insert Image' icon from the Tool panel, to either insert an image directly from your computer or to upload an image from the internet using a URL.

Once your image has been uploaded, click on the 'Add Images' button to add it to the Canvas.

Now, choose the 'Draw Label' icon from the Tool Panel and start drawing blanks in the places where you want the students to drag and drop the options provided by you.

Type the correct answers in all the labels. You will not be able to save your question if you leave any label as blank.

Finally, include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Type 13 - Label Fill

This type allows for creating 'Labeling' based questions. Students can Fill the Blank Labels on the given diagram/image.

All the instructions for 'Label - Fill' question type are same as that of the 'Label - Drag' question type and have been explained previously in detail.

The only difference being that the students will have to type their own answers and no options will be given to them for drag and drop.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Type 14 - Hotspot

This type allows for creating 'Labeling' or 'Marking an Area' or 'Identification of Objects' based questions. This question is very beneficial for testing Visual memory and understanding.

When you click on the 'Hotspot' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your question in the space provided.

2. This space is a Canvas, which allows for drawing/marking using the tools from the tool panel.

3. This is the Tool Panel, and it allows the use of 13 different options for drawing/marking.

4. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

The Tool Panel has the following options that can be used for labeling:

1. Move, 2. Insert Image, 3. Draw Rectangle, 4. Draw Circle, 5. Draw Polygon, 6. Draw Path, 7. Bring to Front, 8. Send to Back, 9. Undo, 10. Redo, 11. Delete, 12. Clear All and 13. Choose Correct Hotspot.

Click on the 'Insert Image' icon from the Tool panel, to either insert an image directly from your computer or to upload an image from the internet using a URL.

After uploading the image as shown below, click on the 'Add Image' button.

Now, using the drawing tools from the Tool panel, mark the areas that you want to test for, as shown below.

Now, use the 'Choose Correct Hotspot' icon from the Tool Panel, to tick mark the correct areas. They will turn from blue to green.

Finally, include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Type 15 - Geogebra Graph

This question type is used to frame 'Graphing' based questions using the embedded 'GeoGebra' application.

GeoGebra is a very rich and interactive geometry, algebra, statistics and calculus application, intended for learning and teaching mathematics and science from primary school to university level.

When you click on the 'Graph' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Here, you can type your question in the space provided.

2. This space is the GeoGebra Graph, which includes the graph as well as all the necessary tools.

3. This drop down menu allows you to choose from three variants of GeoGebra, which are Classic, Graphing and Geometry, based on your testing needs.

4. When you check this box, it allows 'Algebra Input' for the student.

5. Type the Points/Marks/Achievement Level here.

Type your question and create the needed graph, as shown in the screenshot given below.

Finally, include an explanation for your question if need be and then click the 'Save' button.

Once you click the 'Save' button, your question will be saved and will appear in your test as shown below.

Type 16 - Desmos Graph

The Desmos Calculator is a tool that helps represent ideas mathematically, connect different representations dynamically and make conjectures.

When you click on the 'Graph' button, an editor will open, as shown in the screenshot given below.

1. Indicates the type of graphing question selected.

2. Indicates the criteria and marks you can select and allot to the question

3. Here, you can type your question in the space provided.

Type 17 - Group

The Group question type supports teachers in creating subquestions under 1 specific group (content source) and allows students to refer to and respond appropriately.
