Paper Mode is an innovative feature designed to help teachers create, deliver, grade, and analyse Pen-and-paper assessments using AssessPrep. This guide provides step-by-step instructions to ensure a seamless experience with Paper Mode, from creating assessments to grading submissions.
Creating the Assessment
- Click on the Create button in the AssessPrep dashboard.
- Select the Paper Mode option.
- Click Submit.
- Add your desired questions to the assessment.

Configure Delivery Settings
1. Once your assessment is ready, click on Deliver.
2. In the Delivery Mode section, choose the Paper option.
3. Assign the test to specific students or classes:
- Choose the options from the Assign to Students section.
- Type the name of the student or class, select from the dropdown, and add them to the list.
- After this is done, go to the Draft section and click Publish to enable grading.
4. Navigate to the Actions menu (top-right corner) and select Export.
5. In the Export dialog box:
- Check the box for Space for student answers to include writing space for students.
- With this, Print copies respective to each student option gets auto enabled. This feature generates unique papers with individual student names and codes.
Export the Assessment
1. Click the Export button. This process may take up to 30 seconds.
2. Once the export is complete, you can:
- Download the assessment as a ZIP file to print and distribute.
- Copy the download link to share with another teacher or admin staff for printing.
- The assessment paper gets exported with unique student name and student code, which can be now distributed to the students to write the answers.
3. Navigate to the Grading tab and create new submissions:
- Open the Actions dropdown and select Create New Submissions.
- Click on the Select All Mapped Students, and all mapped students will automatically appear in the grading grid.
Note: If a student is not already mapped, simply type their name in the search bar, select them from the dropdown, and add them to the list.
Note: Students can upload their handwritten submissions directly via the Student Dashboard in PDF or JPG format.
