Issue: Error 500 - Connectivity Issue Detected
Error Message:
"500 Sorry, something went wrong."
It appears that your computer is not connected to the internet.
Possible Causes:
- Network Connection: Your device might not be connected to a network.
- Interfering Applications: Network monitoring or family sharing apps (e.g., Qustodio) running on your Mac might interfere with the AssessPrep Lockdown App’s AAC mode.
Suggested Solutions:
Check Internet Connection
- Ensure your device is connected to a stable internet network.
Manage Interfering Apps
- Temporarily Disable/Uninstall Apps: If you have network monitoring or family sharing apps like Qustodio or are using a VPN, consider temporarily disabling or uninstalling them before starting the test. For detailed steps on uninstalling Qustodio, refer to this guide.
- Create a New User Profile: Consider creating a new user profile on your Mac and install AssessPrep on that profile.
Alternative Solution: Using an Older Version of AssessPrep
In the event that the troubleshooting steps outlined above do not resolve your issue, you have the option to revert to an earlier version of the AssessPrep app. This step should be considered only if the latest version (10.1.0) is completely non-functional on your device. In such scenarios, you can download and install AssessPrep version 9.0.2.

Ongoing Internet Issues During a Test
The latest version for Mac does not inherently have network issues. However, due to enhanced security features, the menu bar becomes inaccessible during use, which may prevent students from adjusting Wi-Fi settings during an assessment.
- If a student encounters intermittent internet issues during a test, they should try to continue the test until specific issues arise, such as non-loading videos or issues with interactive elements like the math editor. In these instances, students are advised to first attempt resolving their internet connectivity issues through their router or Wi-Fi settings.
- Should it become necessary to access the Wi-Fi settings in the menu bar, or if the internet issue cannot be resolved without exiting the application, students may need to quit the test temporarily to fix their internet connection. It is important to note that re-entering the test will require permission from their teacher or invigilator. This step ensures the integrity and security of the test environment.
